Casey grew up in Cardston and then went to the University of Calgary, where he received his Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in accounting.  He obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation and worked in public practice for several years with big four accounting firms in Calgary providing U.S. and Canadian personal tax return preparation and tax planning services for companies who had cross-border employees.  He transitioned to work with high-net worth individuals to provide U.S. and Canadian personal tax return preparation and tax and estate planning services.  Casey then obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and worked with a Canadian cross-border wealth management company to provide comprehensive U.S. and Canadian financial planning and tax preparation services for their investment clients.

Casey and his wife Leslie have two girls, Lydia and Sophia.  When not at work, Casey enjoys spending time with family and in nature and enjoys a variety of sports.
